I was introduced to this very special couple through their event planner Pallavi Shah of Our Personal Guest. Their love story is a great one. If you haven't read about it in my blog post featuring their engagement session, you should read about it here.
To celebrate New York's role in their romance and to provide a world capital destination for their guests, they chose two incredible venues for their wedding celebration.
First, the Mehndi and Sangeet celebrations, combined into one evening at the world-famous Museum of Natural History. Everyone's clothes, the color of the turbans and the decor were a feast for the eyes... rich color everywhere.




Akshata's father happens to be the founder of Infosys, the company that made outsourcing customer service to India a reality. Here's a photo of Ted Turner greeting Akshata and her dad.

The next day at noon, a soccer (football if you aren't from the US) tournament at Chelsea Piers for Rishi's schoolmates and family.

Time frames, time frames... Usually Indian wedding ceremonies last at least 3 hours... this one was on fast forward: 30 minutes!




After the ceremony, the bride and groom changed in to yet other beautiful garments.
